Privacy Policy

Propa (propa.ca) is the website of Ali Zahedi Personal Real Estate Corporation, a licensed REALTOR® with Royal Pacific Lions Gate Realty Ltd., 203 - 1555 Marine Drive, West Vancouver, BC. This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. We handle personal information in accordance with British Columbia's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) and Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).

What we collect

• Account information. Your name, email address, and phone number when you create an account or accept an invitation. Sign-in is handled by our authentication provider, Kinde.
• Your activity on Propa. Saved searches, homes you like or pass on, notes and messages you exchange with Ali, tour requests, and listings you view. This is the substance of the service: it lets Ali act on what you tell him.
• Contact forms. Name, email, phone, your message, and the property you asked about.
• Sold-data registration. If you register to see sold prices, we keep a record of your acceptance of the sold-data (VOW) terms and when it happened.
• Email interactions. We record whether emails were delivered, opened, or bounced. Personal emails Ali sends through Gmail may include a small tracking image that reports when the email is opened.
• Technical basics. IP address and device information in server logs, used for security and rate limiting. We do not use advertising trackers.

How we use it

• To provide the service: your portal, saved-search alerts, messages, and tours.
• To respond when you reach out.
• To meet legal and regulatory obligations, including record-keeping required of real estate licensees by the BC Financial Services Authority and real estate board rules.
• To keep the service safe (abuse and fraud prevention).

We do not sell personal information. Ever.

Email, and how to stop it

We send two kinds of email: messages that are part of the service (invitations, tour confirmations, replies from Ali) and listing alerts you asked for (saved-search digests). Every listing alert includes an unsubscribe link, and mail apps that support one-click unsubscribe can use it directly. You can also just reply to any email and Ali will turn alerts off for you.

Where your information is stored

Our database is hosted in the United States (Oregon) by Supabase. Documents and files are stored in Canada (AWS Canada region). Some of our service providers process data in the United States. By using Propa you consent to your information being stored and processed outside Canada. We remain responsible for personal information we transfer to service providers.

Service providers we use

Each provider receives only what it needs to do its job: Kinde (sign-in), Supabase (database hosting, USA), Vercel (website hosting), Amazon Web Services (file storage, Canada), Resend (email delivery), Google (Gmail correspondence and Maps), Twilio (text messages), DocuSign and Inkless (electronic signatures), and Bridge Interactive together with the MLS® boards (listing data).

Site analytics and error monitoring

To understand how the site is used and to find problems quickly, we use PostHog (usage analytics, USA) and Sentry (error and performance monitoring, USA). These tools receive technical information such as pages visited, buttons clicked, device and browser type, and error details. We do not record your screen or browsing sessions, and this information is never used for advertising or shared with ad networks.

How long we keep it

We keep personal information as long as needed to provide the service. Records connected to real estate transactions are retained for the periods required of licensees (generally seven years).

Your rights

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, correct it, or ask us to delete it (subject to records we are legally required to keep). You can withdraw consent to listing emails at any time. Write to ali@propa.ca. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia.

Cookies

We use cookies for signing you in and remembering preferences. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.
